Research Interests

My research interests focus primarily on exercise, health and nutrition. Currently, my research takes an evolutionary perspective. I am presently investigating the mismatch between our evolutionary history and modern practices in terms of physical fitness and nutrition.

Some of my general research interests include:

  • Cognitive differences for groups engaging in cardiovascular versus barbell training

  • Evolutionarily-informed medicine; ancestral health

  • Nutrition and dietetics

  • Exercise, physiology, muscle morphology and bone density in an anthropological lens
